The 7 Foods You Must Never Eat!

    1. High Fat and High Carb Foods

Foods that are high in fat and carbs promote high blood pressure levels, increased fat storage, decreased carbohydrate conversion, and erratic insulin levels. So what types of foods can cause these problems? Well, for starters all fried foods, sugar glazed foods such as donuts, pasta's covered in sauces, most restaurant foods, and nearly all fast foods.

    2. Fruit Juices And Sodas

Processed fruit juice is normally only 5% real juice and 95% sugar. Since when is that much sugar a good thing? And really, did you think we were going to endorse drinking sodas? These drinks pack a ton of calories without any health benefit whatsoever. It is better to fresh squeeze your own juices and drinks, or better yet, just stick to good-old-fashioned water.

    3. Candy

Yeah, let's just jack our insulin levels up real bad. When your insulin levels spike you get hungry, and when you get hungry, you eat more calories than necessary... generally, processed foods which make you even hungrier. How about we just stay away from candy as much as possible?

    4. Flavored Oatmeal

Now, this is one that is abused a lot. Everyone thinks because the word "oatmeal" is included that it is healthy... yeah right! It has so much sugar in, so there goes your insulin level yet again. It has a ton of salt which is great for your hypertension levels. Synthetic oils which are really a melted plastic... seriously, just heat up your vegetable oil and then let it cool on its own somewhere. The oil turns hard; do you really want that in your body?

    5. White Breads, Bagels And Rice Cakes

Starches can be your worst enemy, because after processing and conversion the starch becomes sugar. If you haven't noticed, sugar is a really big problem when it comes to bodybuilding.

    6. Breakfast Cereals

Alright, so now we are hitting you below the belt. Seriously, now I can't even eat cereal. Well, think about it like this. The cereals are a form of starch and sugar. The milk has a sugar base in it, and most likely you are sticking more sugar in it. The basic premise is that if you like eating it, it isn't healthy for you.

    7. Alcohol

Alcohol has a ton of empty calories; therefore it just doesn't benefit you at all. Secondly, if you are body building, you need as much testosterone as possible and this just suppresses your production.

Simple Tips to Add Volume to Your Tired Strands

It is common for damaged hair to lie flat, losing all bounce and shine that it once possessed. This may seem alarming to you when it happens on your head, and hair treatments offered on store shelves may not do the trick. You can definitely use product to add some temporary volume to your hair, but you will need something more substantial to undo the damage and permanently revive your tresses.

    Avoid Damaging Products

The first thing you have to do when your hair loses its natural volume is look at the products you are using on a regular basis. A bad product used once or occasionally won't damage your hair permanently, but if you are using something that weighs it down on a daily basis, it could affect the life of your hair overall.

Some products also contain harsh chemicals that can damage your hair, resulting in a lack of volume as well as other problems. The best thing you can do for your hair is stop using those products. Even if you are unsure about the products, it is best to stop using them for a period of time and give your hair a break. This may not be enough to completely eliminate the problem with your hair, but it will at least stop the cycle of damage.

    Stop Processing Your Hair

Processing your hair with curling irons, straightening irons, blow dryers, and other tools can damage your hair over time. You can also damage your hair with perms, straightening chemicals, and other style applications. If you are putting your hair through any type of processing on a regular basis, stop and give your hair a break. This is especially helpful if you realize your flat hair started to develop soon after starting a new type of hair process, such as starting to use a new curling iron.

Chemicals always have the potential to damage your hair. Excessive heat or consistent application of heat can also lead to damage, and lying flat without life is a way for hair to show that damage. You may also notice that you have a lot of split ends and other problems that result from the heat and/or chemicals used during processing.

You may not want to stop processing your hair because it is the only thing giving your hair some sign of life right now, but what if that processing is causing more long term damage than short term benefits? That is something you need to think about as you consider your options for hair treatment.

    Professional Consultation

You don't want to go long term without putting a curl in your hair or spraying on your favorite products, but you cannot continue with your daily routines until you know what might be causing the damage to your hair. A professional consultation with a hair specialist is the solution. They will recommend hair treatments that can bring your hair back to life, from the roots to the tips.

Tips to Find a Qualified Spine Doctor

There is hardly any person who has not yet needed the help of a physician in his or her lifetime. In fact, it's hard to think about a healthy life without the assistance of physicians. Depending on the type of disease, physicians can also specialize in different categories with different skills and expertise. For example, a spine surgeon is adept in undertaking spinal surgery. They cannot be expected to treat a person suffering from AIDS or Cancer or any other disease. Therefore, if anyone is suffering from a disease or a physical problem, they should go for a doctor or physician who has the skill and expertise needed to cure their physical problem.

First of all, the person needs to decide whether they really need to consult a spine doctor. Spine pain may be of different types. So, if someone can put up with the pain they are suffering from, they should not consult a spine doctor. However, if they can't put up with the pain, then it's wise to visit a spine doctor.

Before consulting a spine doctor, it's best to do some research on the spine surgeons available in a locality, city or state. A patient should visit a spine doctor who is highly experienced as well as efficient in curing spine-related problems. Of course, they must have a degree and permission to be able to serve patients. Besides, they need to have the required skill and expertise to conduct surgery if required. Nobody should risk their health by visiting a spine doctor with little knowledge and little experience in curing spine back related problems.

A good spine doctor will examine a patient first and then decide on what they should do. More often than not, chronic spinal pain often requires surgery. But a highly skilled and experienced spine doctor will not go for surgery first. He or she will try some other methods, keep note on the results and then decide what to do. If a patient's condition improves, that would be great. If not, the doctor should re-assess the situation.

A good and qualified spine doctor maintains a good and sound relationship with their patients. They should explain everything needed for the proper treatment of the spine back problem to their patients. They can tell the patients about any sort of risks involved in surgery and also inform them about the benefits of surgery. So, the doctor doesn't have to hide anything and remains frank and clear to the patient. However, it does not mean that the doctor will frustrate and cause fear amongst patients. In fact, they should always try their best to encourage patients and let them feel that they are going to be fit and fine within the shortest possible time. Even after surgery, the doctor should advise the patients to do everything needed to ensure they recover fully and quickly.

To conclude, a good and qualified doctor can be an asset when looking to cure a physical condition such as back pain and should look to help patients with every stage of their problems.

Solutions About Autism Spectrum Disorder

Maybe your child was just diagnosed with it or maybe your sister had a child who has it. Autism Spectrum Disorder is occurring in children more now than ever. What is the reason for it? Where does it start? Is it preventable? Is it contagious? These are just some of the questions parents ask themselves when confronted with this disorder. It's time to get more information on this disorder and the time is now.

    What is it?

Autism is a word that is used to describe a series of developmental brain disorders that are known as Pervasion Developmental Disorders, or PDD. There are more pervasive developmental disorders called PDD-NOS or not otherwise specified. Others include Rett Syndrome, Asperger Syndrome, and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder. This complete group of Pervasion Developmental Disorders is often referred to as Autism Spectrum Disorders because it covers a wide spectrum of disorders.

It is estimated that for every 110 children, one will be diagnosed with autism. These statistics are more common that juvenile diabetes, pediatric AIDS, or childhood cancer. The numbers have increased over time and the reason for that increase is not positively known right now. These estimates are for children in the United States alone.

What is the cause of Autism?

There is no real answer for this question. Most cases for autism is unknown because it simply hasn't been discovered yet. It's not as simple as saying either your child has autism or they don't. There are varying degrees of this disorder from mild to severe. This leads professionals to believe that there may be multiple reasons why a child has autism. It could be genetic or it could be due to exposure of something but there is no simple answer or solution known today. Timing includes before the child was born, during childbirth, and after birth. Some scientists wonder Autism Spectrum Disorder is due to genetics. Could it be due to an infection or an environmental agent?

    Symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder

Again, since there are so many varieties of this type of disorder symptoms can vary as well. The main united symptom is that Autism can affect the way that the child sees and understands the world and it can make communicating with that child difficult and it can make the social skills of the child difficult as well. Because the child has difficulties communicating and doesn't see the world in the same way, not every case of autism is going to be the same.

The symptoms of this disorder can last throughout the entire life of that person. Individuals who have mild cases may have a certain symptom that can be seen from time to time but they can lead a normal typical life. A person with severe symptoms may not be able to speak or even take care of themselves.

    What can you do?

The best way to handle Autism Spectrum Disorder is to learn all you can about it and become an advocate. You can't change the disorder but you can learn how you can live with it. Acceptance takes time so be patient. Meantime, join a support group and if there are none around you, form one. You would be amazed at how many people are affected by this disorder in some way; a child, neighbor, babysitter, co-worker, niece, nephew, cousin or other family member.

How To Exercising When You Have Arthritis

My Great Grandmother from Luxembourg often said, "My only regret in life is that I wasn't kinder to my joints." She lived to be ninety-six years old. Where it is difficult to think we could prevent osteoarthritis, the severity could be lessened by making good choices for joints from childhood through adulthood to decrease the pain we have in our "golden years". The choices we make early on are definitely felt later on down the road in later years.

The important aspects of childhood bone/joint health consist of a healthy diet, consuming fruits, vegetables, and dairy products daily. Low impact sports and physical activities protect joints from excessive wearing of the joint cartilage. Proper protective equipment is important to prevent injuries to the bones and joints. Investing in equipment such as good running shoes, helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, and shin guards are an investment in your child's or your own bone/joint future. Even with preventive measures in place, care must be taken, as too much training can easily lead to injuries. If you or your child is involved in high impact sports, you must keep a watchful eye out for early signs of joint/bone problems. When in doubt whether damage is taking place or not, consult an orthopedic specialist to make a good determination as to whether rest or some other intervention is indicated.

Some examples of low impact exercise that are less damaging to cartilage are swimming, using a cross country ski machine, stair stepper, elliptical machine, bicycling, roller skating, roller blading, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, ice skating, low impact aerobics, golf, hiking, and ballroom dancing.

Excess weight must be avoided throughout life to keep the joints healthy because for every pound a person is overweight, it exerts four times the force on the cartilage in the weight bearing joints such as the hip and knee. Therefore, every pound counts towards wearing away our cartilage faster or slower, especially in your hips and knees and that choice is yours to make. The difficult part is that people gain weight more easily in later years and then exercising becomes more difficult. Difficulties with exercising then make losing weight more difficult and then increases the speed at which cartilage wears down.

Despite making the best choices, arthritis pain can still plague people as the years roll on. Medications can be used to reduce pain with the unfortunate side effects or removal from the market to worry about. In my experience as an occupational therapist, I have seen good results in relieving arthritis pain through the sequence of heat, massage, and Biofreeze to manage arthritis pain without or in addition to medication.

Use Lavender Oil to Reduce Work

The daily demands and pressures of life can be quite distressing and in particular those demands that are work-related. Work-related stress is a fact of life with which most individuals deal. Work-related stress not only negatively impacts work performance, but it can also adversely affect personal relationships as well. Stress from work can lead to fatigue, aching muscles, headaches, stomach problems, and emotional difficulties such as anxiety or depression. When you need to relieve work-related stress, you may want to consider using lavender oil.

Using natural ingredients to combat the ill-effects of stress is both safe and effective. Treating stress with chemicals, such as those found in anti-depressants and over-the-counter medications, can be counterproductive to one's overall health. Since many medications carry with them warnings of dangerous side effects, it seems only rational to opt for natural alternatives instead. Reducing work-related stress naturally can be better for physical, mental, and emotional health.

There are many ways in which lavender oil can be used to reduce work-related stress. The fragrant, calming vapors of this oil can be inhaled directly or the oil can be added to a hot bath. Most people can apply lavender oil directly on the skin without a carrier oil, but you may find after a patch test that you prefer to dilute the lavender oil with some jojoba or another base oil. The oil from the lavender plant (Lavandula angustifolia) produces a calm, soothing, and sedative effect that can restore balance to the nervous system thereby promoting relaxation and uplifting one's mood.

It's not always practical to use a diffuser at work because everyone else may not want to smell lavender, and it can be overly relaxing for some people... which is not usually something everyone else in the office wants or needs. The easiest way to take full advantage of the benefits of lavender oil is to simply keep the bottle on hand, either in a purse or in your pocket, and simply breathe in deep inhalations of the scent from the open bottle. Alternatively, you can put a couple of drops of the pure oil on a tissue and then breathe in the aromatherapy from the tissue. This is generally a milder option and sometimes subtlety is the better method when it comes to full strength essential oils.

Remember that pure essential oils are very concentrated therapeutic substances, but they are not to be over used. Moderation is always the best practice with natural healing substances.

Michael D. Thompson, an organic perfumer and accredited Master Herbalist, is the founder and director of Florapathics, LLC which manufactures all-natural, organically-derived personal care products that are infused with pure essential oils for aromatherapy.
